Kidney function can be assesed with creatinine serum, clearance Glomerular Filtration Rate (GFR), and estimated GFR or eGFR. Inulin clearance has been proposed as the gold standard in kidney function test but the cost is high and the test takes time to be done. GFR is evaluated by assesing a stable substance that filtrated completely and unabsorbed or secreted by kidney. Chronic Kidney Disease Epidemiology Collaboration (CKD-EPI) creatinine equation is the one of several options in eGFR calculation.
